Materials: story, textbook or poem

Objective

In this activity players use action and make up sound effects to act out a story, textbook article or poem.

Instructions

1. Divide the class into teams of five players. The children should decide among themselves who will be the narrator (1), sound effects (2) and actors (2).

2. Give the teams five minutes planning time to present their story.

3. During the presentation, the narrator who is reading the story must pause, and leave enough time for the actors to improvise with their own sound effects or actions. The narrator should be the person leading the story, but he/she should be aware of the actors, and the sound effects they want to add.
