Objective

In Famous Names, students try to guess who they are by asking questions and giving "yes" or "no" answers. The first three people to correctly guess their name wins the game.

Instructions

1. Before class, write down the names of famous people on stickers. During the game, place these stickers on the back of each player. You can use names of famous actors, rock stars or sports people the class would know.

2. Players can mingle around the class and look at the stickers on the other players back.

3. Next, players must form teams consisting of one or two partners. They take turns helping each other to discover who the famous person is on their back by asking questions or answering in yes or no only.

For example:

George: Is my character female?
Dion: Yes
George: Does she live in America?
Dion: No
George: Does she live in the UK?
Dion: Yes
George: Is she part of the royal family?
Dion: Yes
George: Is it the Queen?
Dion: Yes

The teacher can stop the game at any time when there are three winners, when a certain time limit has been reached or when everyone has guessed who they are.

Variation

Teams of two or three players can be formed to compete against other teams. The first team to correctly guess who they are wins the game.
