Instructions

1. To people who don't know it Number Muchers, the game may seem like magic so you need to do a bit of acting. You may want to go through the various ways of saying the four operations such as add, subtract, take away, deduct, divided by, multiply by, times by, double it and so on.

The procedure for the game is as follows:

Procedure

  • Tell students to think of a number
  • Double it and add 12
  • Ask them to add 5, take away 3 and divide the total by 2
  • Finally tell them to take away the result by the by the number they first thought of.

  • Example

  • Say 2
  • 4 + 12 = 16
  • 16 + 5 = 21
  • 21 - 3 = 18
  • 18 / 2 = 9
  • 9 - 2 = 7

  • 2. Pretend to think hard for the answer and after a while say "The number is 7, is that right?"
