| Materials: | Make your own printable matching cards. You will need to make 16 cards for each player. |
Objective
In this fun ESL activity, learners try to find pairs of matching cards by asking questions and by describing their cards to each other.
Instructions
1. Lay down the 16 image cards in front of each pair of players. Both players begin by picking up a card. Without showing their cards, players must question each other to find out if they hold an identical pair of cards or not.
2. If they guess correctly that the cards are an identical pair, they win those cards and put them to one side. If the cards are not identical, they put the cards face down.
3. After going through all of their cards, they must shuffle the cards that are lying face down and repeat the process again. The game is over when the players correctly identify all the identical pairs.
Variations
You can make the game more difficult by including more pairs, or make it shorter by having fewer pictures.
