Materials: A copy of Talk and Draw Worksheet, paper and pencil for each pair of learners. You can use your own pictures - strange objects work best.

Objective

In Talk and Draw, students work in pairs to draw an image. One student describes the image, while the other student attempts to draw the image.

Instructions

1. Divide the class into pairs and give each pair a copy of the Talk and Draw Sheet. Without revealing the image to each other, one learner describes the image while the other draws a picture of the image.

Example:
Student 1: "It's a pictogram image with a man and a petrol pump. The man is holding the petrol pump nozzle to his head".
Student 2: "Is he holding the pump nozzle with his left hand or his right hand?".
Student 1: "His right hand! The petrol container is less than two inches from him".
Student 2: "Lets see, he's over here, the pumps over here ... does that look right?"
Learner 1: "Yes thats good, but spread his left arm out".

2. When both learners have done what they can, they can look at the images and compare the results.
