Materials: Photocopy the What If Discussion WorkSheet for each learner.

Instructions

This ESL activity is excellent as an ice-breaker, or as part of getting to know a new group.

Divide the class into small groups of 4 - 5 students. Give each learner a copy of the What If discussion Worksheet and have them discuss it together.

Variations

For larger groups, have each learner contribute to writing down a "What if" question. Once the group has finished with their questions, gather all the questions into an envelope. Next exchange the envelopes with a different group and have learners go through and discuss each question.
