Materials: Pictures of a furnished room, or make copies of the Livingroom Prepositional Phrase Worksheet.

Objective

In this grammar activity, students use adverbial prepositional phrases to ask "yes" or "no" questions to find hidden objects.

Instructions

1. Before class, cut out pictures or use our Livingroom Prepositional Phrase Worksheet - pictures to help students practice new words. You may want to list down and go through prepositional phrases and vocabulary items in the picture before starting the game.

2. Have students work together in pairs or small groups. Student A thinks of an object, and a place in the picture where it is hidden. Student B must try to locate the object by asking a series of "yes" and "no" questions using adverbial prepositional phrases. For example: "Is it under the sofa?" or "Is it behind the doors?"
