Objective

Card Spelling is an efl/esl spelling activity that is played in pairs or small groups. Players try to form the most number of words by by picking up a letter of the alphabet and using it to form words.

Instructions

Make a deck of cards with the following letters:

1. Explain to the class the objective of this activity, and decide on a minimum number of letters that a word must contain.

2. Divide the class into pairs or small groups. Place the cards face down on a table in front of the players.

3. Players take turns picking up one letter at a time. When a player sees a word, he or she calls out the word and shows their card to the other players. The game continues until all of the cards are picked up.
