Objective
Acrostics is a word building activity. Learners try to write a word between two given letters.
Instructions
1. Choose a word that is at least three letters long, or 4-5 letters for higher level learners. Write the word in a column on the left side of the whiteboard, draw a few dots, and then write the letters reversed on the right-handside of the board. For example, if the choosen word is "dead", it will look something like this:
Step 1: Write the word on the left and right hand side D................................D E................................A A................................E D................................D |
Step 2: Fill in the words D i v i d e n D E b o l A A b b r e v i a t E D y e D |
2. Each student must now try to fill in spaces between the two letters. To make the game more competitive, you could eliminate players for each round based on players who have the same words, or the least number of words.
