Objective

In this writing activity, students are given a polysyllabic word and must write as many words as possible by using letters from the given word.

Instructions

1. Explain the objective of the activity. Next divide the class into pairs, small groups or teams depending on the size of your class.

2. Write a word on the board (ideally a polysyllabic word of more than three syllables). Give the students a time limit of about 10 minutes to write down as many words as they can think of using letters from the given word.

3. After the set time limit, write out a master list on the board.
